bushcraft essentials

This course is for you if you are looking to spend longer periods outside in wilder spaces with less access to modern conveniences.  During this course you will have the opportunity to develop your own outdoor living / bushcraft skills and knowledge. You will put up simple shelters, learn about fire lighting/management with natural resources in all weather conditions, cook with campfires and work with wood harvested sustainably using simple hand tools.  You will also explore how you can use these skills for the activities you are planning for your school pupils or the young people in your voluntary organisation such as Guiding or Scouting.

When you have completed the 'bushcraft essentials' event we would anticipate you would have a greater awareness of how to access 'wilder' land and to use woodland habitats sustainably and with minimal disturbance to the nature within it.
