Everyday Wilder Living
Practical outdoor living skills that give you a solid foundation for a wilder life, taught slowly and safely, with plenty of time to practise.
The two days
We start with the things that keep you and the woodland safe: hazards, the law and taking materials sustainably.
With guidance you'll learn to use a folding saw and a sheath knife safely and well, including the grips that keep your fingers safe, and how to look after your tools so they last.
We'll coppice some hazel together and turn it into useful greenwood, then choose a good site and pitch a tarp shelter using a handful of knots you'll use again and again.
The day ends with lighting a fire and learning to care for it, and a hot drink to celebrate what you've made.
