A Walk in the Wild
When I first met the 'green wall' of hedgerow and woodland plants I was overwhelmed: they all looked the same. This day is about walking with someone who notices, and learning which plants help and which harm.
The day
We begin with the RESPECT Code and the law, so you know what you can gather, where, and how to do it without harming the place.
Walking slowly, with all our senses tuned up, we'll meet the plants that can be used in a wilder life, and the poisonous plants and trees to recognise and leave well alone.
You'll learn how to find water and make it safe, and we'll respectfully gather, process and explore the properties of a few plants, including making nettle cordage.
We finish with a cup of wild tea and a chance to share what we've learned. These are skills you'll use again and again, in a garden, at a campsite or further afield.
