Wild Wise
Who are your wild neighbours? This day helps you put names to the plants, trees, birds and minibeasts around you, and know which ones to treat with care.
The two days
We begin with the tools of a naturalist: how to use field guides and ID apps well, and how to look closely enough to tell one species from another.
Walking slowly through the wood and its edges, you'll meet the trees and plants that shape the place, including the old heritage trees, and learn to recognise the poisonous plants everyone should know.
In the afternoon we turn to invertebrates and birds: who lives in the leaf litter, under bark and in the canopy, and how they all connect.
We finish by reading the seasons in the land and starting a simple map of your place, so you can keep learning who shares it with you.
